EU Proposes Rules to Let Consumers Access Online Content When Abroad 

he European Commission—the bloc’s executive arm—proposed EU-wide rules to allow subscribers of online content, such as television, music, film or sports broadcasts, to access the media when traveling abroad in any other of the 28 European member states. “We want to ensure the portability of content across borders,” said European Commission Vice-President Andrus Ansip. “People who legally buy content…must be able to carry it with them anywhere they go in Europe.”
