The content budget for the new BBC3 online service will be around £30m in 2016/17(excluding news and sport and other content-related costs), broken down into two themes, Make me Laugh and Make me Think. While 80% of the first-year budget will be used to commission long-form programming, “the remaining 20% will be devoted to short and new-form content,” says the BBC.
