He was an early proponent of UltraViolet, a major cross-studio initiative that has yet to catch on with consumers. The technology was supposed to fuel Blu-ray and DVD sales by allowing people to deposit their movies and TV shows into an online locker, and watch it anytime. But UltraViolet still doesn’t enjoy the support of major manufacturers like Apple or giant online movie services such as Amazon.
