The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), that was negotiated between the United States and 11 partner countries across the Asia-Pacific region, is a step in “the right direction” according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Following the release by the Obama administration on November 5 of the full text of the TPP, Neil Turkewitz, executive vice president for International at the RIAA, noted in a blog on the organisation’s web site that “while the TPP may not provide a precise roadmap for realising the potential of Internet commerce, it certainly moves us in the right direction.”
