Almost half of the 100 million US households have a subscription video service — and America’s love affair with the new-style way of watching the tube is having a knock-on effect on live TV, a report out Thursday shows.Stand-alone subscription video services, which also include Amazon Prime, Dish’s Sling TV, HBO Now, Sony PlayStation Vue and CBS All Access, grew to be in 46 percent of households at the end of the third quarter, up from 40 percent in the same period last year, according to the report.
