Study: TV no longer holds sway in the living room

A new study adds weight to the belief that the TV screen is no longer the dominant screen in the living room as laptops, smartphones and tablets increasingly are being used to watch video, message, interact on social media and work. The study, Real_Living, was conducted by researcher Sparkler for the Internet Advertising Bureau UK (IAB) and reported that just half of UK online adults say the TV set is the focal point of their living room. About 70% regularly use a connected device while watching TV, a number that spikes to 87% for 16- to 34-year-old respondents.
