Digital services accounted for 45 percent of recorded music revenue and outstripped physical revenue for the first time, according to numbers released Wednesday by the global trade body IFPI. The topline numbers show growth in the important places. Total recorded music revenue grew 3.2 percent to $15.0 billion. Digital revenues rose 10.2 percent even though download revenues fell 10.5 percent. Physical revenues dropped a manageable 4.5 percent and accounted for 39 percent of revenue. All are fine numbers in the grand scheme of things.
