Domestically, ticket sales rose 8% to $11.1 billion in 2015, while admissions jumped 4% to 1.32 billion. Two-thirds of the population of U.S. and Canada, some 235.3 million people, went to the movies at least once last year, up 2% from 2014. However, the number of frequent moviegoers, people who go to the cinema at least once a month, decreased by 3.7 million or 10%.
