Mid-sized cable operators continued to lose pay-TV subs in Q1

Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Charter Communications collectively added 89,000 video subscribers in the first quarter, but the return to pay-TV growth appears to be confined to the top. All of the mid-sized operators reported losses in the quarter, including Cablevision (down 15,000), Cable One (off 13,000 residential subs) and Mediacom (minus 2,000 across its two operating units).
